Dark Glory (2YO) (Brian Meehan) 2.5% Share
This superb-looking colt is a quality individual with great presence. He is a son of first-season sire Alhebayeb, a Group 2-winning juvenile trained by Richard Hannon and owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum. He was purchased at Goffs Premier Yearling Sale, Doncaster where he really stood out as a strong individual with the additional scope to train on well. He is at Manton by Brian Meehan, who last year enjoyed notable success with the high-class Group 2-winning 2yo Barraquero and our own highly-progressive useful handicapper Fastar, both cheaper graduates of the same Goffs Premier Yearling Sale.
UPDATE: This colt has shown plenty of speed in his work so far and Brian Meehan likes him a great deal. He should be ready to run very soon and looks a very nice colt indeed.
His sire: ALHEBAYEB will have his first crop of 2yo runners in 2018 and his yearlings have been extremely well received at the autumn sales. Alhebayeb was trained by Richard Hannon to win on his racecourse debut over five furlongs prior to finishing 2nd of 23 at Royal Ascot. He then gained his most notable win when successful in the Group 2 July Stakes (six furlongs) at Newmarket. He is a son of the great sire Dark Angel, who is responsible for the brilliant sprinters Harry Angel, Battaash, Mecca’s Angel and Lethal Force, to name only a few.

His dam: GLYNDEBOURNE is a daughter of the top stallion Rahy, the sire of Fantastic Light, Hawksley Hill and Noverre. Glyndebourne is the dam of one winner from two runners to date and this colt is a half-brother to the impressive debut maiden seven-furlong maiden Casimiro (trained by Roger Charlton) earning an official handicap rating of 87. Glyndebourne is a half-sister to the Listed winner and Group 2-placed Portrayal from a family that boasts a huge number of Group race winners.
