3 Year old
This superb-looking colt is a quality individual with great presence and it’s a tremendous opportunity to get involved in a horse with proven ability who will be ready to run early in the season.
Dark Glory is a son of Alhebayeb, a Group 2-winning juvenile trained by Richard Hannon and owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum. His dam Glyndebourne is a daughter of the top stallion Rahy, the sire of Fantastic Light, Hawksley Hill and Noverre. Glyndebourne is the dam of the impressive debut maiden seven-furlong maiden Casimiro (trained by Roger Charlton), who was officially rated 89 and achieved a peak Racing Post rating of 94. Glyndebourne is a half-sister to the Listed winner and Group 2-placed Portrayal from a family that boasts a huge number of Group race winners.
This colt has shown plenty of ability in his work, Brian Meehan likes him a great deal and believes he is capable of winning plenty of races. He made his debut in a very hot 7f maiden at Ffos Las on 5 September, showing plenty of pace before running green and getting tired in the closing stages. After another solid run in an extremely hot maiden at Newmarket, he finished an excellent third of 11 runners in a competitive novice stakes over 1m at Brighton 18 October on his latest appearance. He showed plenty of pace once again and kept on very well to the line. He now has what his trainer considers a very fair handicap rating of 69 and Brian Meehan is very much looking forward to plenty of wins from this progressive youngster. He has since enjoyed a winter break and should be ready to run early in this year’s 2019 turf Flat season.
